UK grocer Asda has announced a new dropshipping partnership to support its plans to expand its online product range with sportswear brand the first seller to go live

Virtualstock’s integration methodology enabled a connection with ASDA’s existing technology, along with a scalable one-to-many integration for its suppliers, with no IT resource required from the retailer.

By wrapping its integration layer around ASDA’s systems, Virtualstock eliminated the need for internal development, significantly reducing both time and investment costs. This initiative supported ASDA during its major technical ‘Project Future’ transformation, as it separates from Walmart’s infrastructure.

The project progressed from concept to full implementation in an impressive 9 weeks. Andrew Thompson, senior manager ecommerce portfolio, Asda, said: “Working with Virtualstock has enabled us to expand our range to customers by onboarding trusted brands such as Decathlon. This has given us the opportunity to appeal to a wider customer audience and grow our revenue. It also means we can keep our website continuously updated with accurate stock information, ensuring customers stay informed about their orders at every stage.”
